General Activities
Network 17 has reached out to the U.K. History of Education Society to encourage mutual exchange and expansion in a more formalised manner, which has been greeted with enthusiasm by said Society. The new Network Link Convenor will also seek to establish new, stronger ties with the International Standing Conference for the History of Education (ISCHE) through its newly elected President.
Network Publications
While Network 17 does not have any formal links to existing journals, its new Link Convenor has been elected fourth editor of History of Education (Taylor and Francis) and will use ECER, among other conferences and channels, to source contributions to a new disciplinary boundary-pushing section for which he is henceforth responsible.
Network 17 is also planning a book project to be proposed for EERA's Book Series, as well as a related Network funding bid, hoping to attract 'edgy', historically infused cross-disciplinary scholarship from a variety of areas and contexts, especially also from traditionally less represented regions and from across the career spectrum. Network 17 would welcome any potential contributions considered for this from any other EERA Network.
Future Plans
Network 17 has plans to further improve its conference reviewing process, so as to ensure continued attraction of quality contributions. As mentioned, the network also plans to publish a book as part of EERA's Book Series and to submit a related Network funding bid, hoping to attract 'edgy', historically infused cross-disciplinary scholarship from a variety of areas and contexts, especially also from traditionally less represented regions and from across the career spectrum.
