ECER 2009 welcomed six keynote speakers who reflected on the conference theme with their keynote lectures.

VETNET and Pontydysgu did a series of Video and Audiopodcasts of ECER 2009 and interviewed delegates, keynote speakers and EERA officials. The aim was to provide a video and audio archive of the conference but also to explore the use of new technologies to open up the ideas from the conference to a wider audience.

The annual Pre-Conference is dedicated to PhD Students and Young Researchers and is organized by the Postgraduate Network.
