EASSH Position Paper for the EOSC Summit

“What is Education Research for?” is the questions that drives António Nóvoa’s keynote address. Gert Biesta will discuss “Two Cultures of Educational Research” while Madeline Arnot will reflect on “Sociological Perspectives on Current Challenges to Egalitarian values in Education”. Marylin Cochran Smith will bring in a “US perspective on Teacher Education”. Finally Agnés van Zanten will focus on the increasing use of educational research-based knowledge for policy purposes and how this effects the way education research is conceived, evaluated and funded.
