Publications

  • The Special Issue proposal to EERA Journal (EERJ) „Intersectional approaches to educational research through gendered lenses” was discussed and new deadlines for its submission. There was a wide range of interest and support for developing the ideas was offered.
  • The book: „Gender and Education in Politics, Policy and Practice – Transdisciplinary Perspectives” was published within the EERA Book Series with Springer
  • Transdisciplinary Perspectives in Educational Research. It was edited by Marie Carlson, Brynja, E. Halldórsdóttir, Branislava Baranović, Ann-Sofie Holm, Sirpa Lappalainen and Andrea Spehar. The Network convenors activelly participated in writing articles and editing the book. The book discusses critical perspectives on gender and education using a transdisciplinary frame and explains how gender and education are relevant and needed concepts within the field of transdisciplinary research, thus contributing to the research on gender and sexuality inequalities in education. The book will be presented within the Network activities at the next ECER in Glasgow.

Future Plans

  • The Network will continue work on dissemination of the Special Issue Call for EERA journal (EERJ): 'Intersectional approaches to educational research through gendered lenses'. Guest Editors are: Victoria Showunmi, Andrea Abbas and Carol Taylor.

  • A plan to submit an edited collection to Transdisciplinary Perspectives in Educational research was considered. We had a discussion about developing transdisciplinary proposal and the most favoured idea was one on gender researchers working with those in disciplines to develop the proposal.
  • The network will continue to support the Emerging Researchers Group by providing a capacity building workshop and involving young researchers in the Network’s activities.
  • The Network will enlarge the Network convenor team as we want to make sure the focus and agenda of the Network are in line with its goal to represent and cover diverse gender, sex and sexuality groups.
  • The development of a Special Network Call for Glasgow 2023 ECER is planned.
  • We will also generate a strategy for developing funding bids for the Network projects.
