1994 - Network founded

During the first meeting of ECER in 1992, a proposal was put forward to start an European Curriculum Researchers Network (ECUNET). The positive response to this idea encouraged the initiators Jan van den Akker (the Netherlands) and Uwe Hameyer (Germany) to continue their efforts with planning a first European conference in the field of curriculum in 1994. About 100 colleagues from different countries joined this first conference. The major aim of the conference was to offer researchers an opportunity to present their findings and discuss them with research colleagues and other professionals who are interested in curriculum improvement.

With the start of EERA in 1994, ECUNET was embedded as NW 3. Jan van den Akker was convenor and Wilmad Kuiper (the Netherlands) co-convenor of the network activities up until 1998.

NW 03 runs a mailing list and invites researchers to join. To join the mailing list, send a blank message to nw03-subscribe(at)lists.eera-ecer.de .
