ECER 2016 welcomed four keynote speakers: Emer Smyth, Jorunn Møller, Andy Hargreaves and Paul Standish.

The theme of ECER 2016 is “Leading Education: The Distinct Contributions of Educational Research and Researchers”. The keynote speakers have shared their research and insights in their keynotes over the past days. At the EERA Panel all four will discuss with each other and also enter into dialogue with the audience.

EERA Council and the local organising committee prepare a range of sessions addressing various themes, such as funding options and insight into the education system of the hosting country.

Educational research and educational researchers need public places and spaces of unrestricted communication. The EERJ Moot aims to create a space where an intergenerational discussion and debate among researchers can take place, oriented towards the future. The theme of this year's Moot reflects the digital life of educational researchers.

The Propective Members' Session led by EERA President Theo Wubbels and EERA Treasurer Herbert Altrichter, will inform non-member delegates about the assistance EERA can offer in building a reasearch association, and explain the process of becoming an EERA member association. Those interested are also welcome to put their questions to the speakers.

Each year, ECER hosts an Exhibition for Publishers, Research Instruments and EERA Member Associations. At this exhibition, ECER particpants can take a look at the latest publications in the field of educational research and also learn about new tools for research. Additionaly, the EERA Member Association of the hosting country as well as several other EERA Member Associations will be at the exhibition with information on their association.
