Keynote Speakers

This year's ECER welcomes four keynote speakers. Keynote lectures will take place on 19 and 20 September.
Keynote Speakers will also join the "EERA Panel" on 21 September.

Rosi Braidotti (B.A. Hons. Australian National University, 1978; PhD Cum Laude, Université de Paris, Panthéon-Sorbonne, 1981; Senior Fulbright Scholar, 1994; Honorary Degree ‘Philosophiae Doctrix Honoris Causa’, University of Helsinki, 2007; Knight in the Order of the Netherlands Lion, 2005; Honorary Fellow of the Australian Academy of the Humanities, 2009) is Distinguished University Professor and founding Director of the Centre for the Humanities at Utrecht University.

Professor for History of Education at Humboldt Universität. His research interests relate to the global history of mass schooling and the deployment of educational technologies beyond national boundaries. His work focuses on West European (mainly Germany and Spain) and Latin American (mainly Argentina and Colombia) history of education and addresses issues of power, citizenship, and the shaping of divergent cultures of teaching.

Gita Steiner-Khamsi, Dr. phil. (University of Zurich), is Professor of Comparative and International Education at Teachers College, Columbia University in New York. She was the 2009/10 President of the Comparative and International Education Society (CIES).
In her keynote she asks "What is Wrong with the What-Went-Right Approach in Educational Policy?"

Fuensanta Hernandez Pina is professor of Research Methods and Assessment in Education at Universidad de Murcia, Spain and Head of Departament of Métodos de Investigación y Diagnótico en Educación (Research Methods and Assessment in Education), Universidad de Murcia, Spain.
In her keynote she will focus on "Constitution, Education and Research."
